St. Petersburg - Vinoy Hotel

When we visit the west coast of Florida we enjoy the area around St. Petersburg.... We've never stayed at the Vinoy, but the lobby is so interesting... it's worth a visit even if you don't stay....
Update..... we got to stay for one night during 2018... it was amazing.... Glad we got to use Marriott points to do it....

 The Fort guarding St. Augustine is a National Park site, so for us "seniors" the $10 for life pass got us ALL in to visit... what a bargain..... There are wonderful displays and a Ranger talk is always great as well.... There are now scheduled firings of the cannons.... not every day....

St. Petersburg - Chihuly Museum

 From these glorious photos, I hope you can tell that this Museum is well worth a visit.... It is not huge so if possible, combine it with an exhibition of glass blowing nearby.... Update:  The Museum has moved a few blocks away.... It now has PLENTY of room.... it also has some wonderful videos to show the process for these amazing works....
